南方科技大學講席教授,中國科學院院士。1982年畢業于中國科學技術大學地球和空間科學系地球物理學專業,獲學士學位;1985年在中國地震局地球物理研究所獲碩士學位;1991年在美國南加州大學地球科學系獲理學博士學位。1996年回國工作,曾先后任教于北京大學和中國科學技術大學, 2016年9月加盟南方科技大學。一直從事地球物理學的教學與科研工作,發表論文百余篇,已培養20余名博士和30余名碩士,曾主持國家自然科學基金會杰青項目、優秀創新群體項目、重點項目、國際(地區)合作項目、重大項目課題以及科技部973項目課題等科研項目20余項。主要研究方向為理論與計算地球物理學、地球動力學及其在防震減災和資源勘探領域的應用。
